These are nicely packaged set of posters held with a card sleeve, the method of binding the set works really well and as a whole completes the series.

Julia.

For my design context book I'm wanting to make a series of books and this is a great way to package them.

Till Wiedeck.

The thing about the above brand identity is that everything is covered even to the using the logo as a stamp which i think is a really nice thing to have with your personal branding. Colour is really important within this as its really striking and individual.

The business cards above work beautifully with just a simple block foiled triangle as the logo on a bright white card stock. Nice, clean branding.

Christmas Stamps 2009

found: www.magpiestudio.co.uk

This is a really nice example of a presentation card for stamps the whole theme of the stamps is really brought out by the packaging. the die cut windows really make this piece something special for a stamp collector and makes it really feel like a special presentation pack.

Mad Hatters Tea Party.

'These invitations were printed on bright white card stock, and I used Adobe Caslon Pro Italic as my typeface of choice. The cards were strung together with Pink ribbon to match the pink swatch used for the invitations and mailed in gold envelopes.' found here...http://page84.wordpress.com/

Laser cut card.

Found here....www.danielbaer.co.uk

'this intricate design is actually made from one piece of paper—gold and blue sheets have been laminated and then folded in the middle, leaving two tiny hinges holding it all together.'

This is a really nice example of the use of just a single piece of paper, even though this hasn't been hand cut it still has a nice quality.

Letterpress Goodness.

letterpress poster is a single color printed on 110lb Cover Crane Lettra Fluorescent White. The type started with hand drawn lettering, then refined on computer and printed with a nice deep impression on the cotton stock. The quote is from Ralph Waldo Emerson and reads “Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air…”

Flower Design.

found here...www.wash-design.co.uk

'A new look for a local florists...foil blocked on to GFSmith paper stock. It's nice to work with small businesses who appreciate good paper stock and alternative printing techniques.'

Nice example of foil blocking, keeping the design quite limited in colour and simple imagery works really well.

Sea.

Found: www.seadesign.co.uk

This is a promotional poster that sea have created using a simple shape and adding texture by using a clear glitter making it almost have the effect of sugar. The use of colour and process really give this poster design impact, which is a nice example of simple and effective design.

Mikey Burton

All of the work by Mickey Burton is really colourful and bold, using the process of screen printing for alot of it too which really gives his work texture. As the piece just above is letterpressed and has a lovely texture throughout the whole piece.

Sewn Binding

Found here...www.kutchibok.co.uk/see-booklet/
I really like how this booklet has been bound using stitching, I think this is a nice method to add colour to a publications spine.

First Day Cover.

This is a really nice example of a first day cover that I picked up in a charity shop. All the stamps from the british birds series are displayed on the envelope

All the stamps from the british birds range appear on the first day cover envelope which is a method of collecting the stamps that the royal mail still use to date.

An illustration for the overall theme of the stamps appears on the first day cover as well which is something I need to consider within my stamp brief.

Also all the stamps from the series are date stamped so that it captures a moment in time for the collector. This is also a key element to the first day cover!

Inside the first day cover there is also a separate card with more details about british birds and another illustration. Something else to remember to add to my stamp series!

Nice use of glitter...

This poster was designed by Because Studio.

I think its a great use of media and really appropriate for the quote.Nice, clean and simple. The quote is from a comedian called Demetri Martin.

I really like the idea behind this and it gives me inspiration for my 'all that glitters isn't gold' poster.
