Really nice use of mono tone imagery and lovely illustrations.Plus these cards are part of a 100% recycled range and comes as a pack of 10 cards.

Its nice to see Paperchase doing a recycled range and its something that I want to possibly look in to with my range of cards and products too. This particular product is packaged with a roll of gift wrap and 5 gift tags.

Paperchase Xmas Card.

This is a perfect example of what I want to achieve with my card designs. The processes used such as foiling and use of colour really gives this card a feel of quality. Its also printed using vegatable inks in and alcohol free printing process, which means that it is completely recyclable.
Also I want to aim my range of cards at the market of paperchase, so that my cards have that quality and is something you might want to keep. To either frame it because of the lovely print or for a sentimental reason.

Clinton Cards.

Clinton's a la mode range:
The above card is very plain and simple to me but the use of colour works quite well.

However the card design below has just that little something extra. I'm liking the fact its printed on to a brown stock (as I'm looking in to the use of recycled stocks) the colours just jump out at you against the brown background. Also the way that the 'happy' text has been cut out to reveal a coloured background works really well too.

Introducing 3D to the cards gives quite a nice effect?!?Bold use of font and glitter.

These two cards are both laser cut and have that lovely delicate feel to them. The bottom one is very similar to the work of Rob Ryan!!!

Tutti Frutti

Inspired by the opening cry of Little Richard's rock & roll hit 'Tutti Frutti', this fantastic print was designed and printed at Hand & Eye Letterpress by Phil Abel, Nick Gill and Rosa De Carlo.

The letterpress poster was printed in 7 colours on smooth white paper on a FAG Control 525 proofing press at Hand & Eye's London studio.The ideal gift for lovers of music and typography!

These are really lovely as the above designs are paper cut outs as an illustration, maybe I could use this technique within my designs and then I can use the new toy in the print room!!!

Some card designs for birthday's...



The above design highlights all things pink and girlie which works well as a theme for a card. The illustrations keep it contemporary whilst being quite traditional with the cake.


The 'birthday boy' card is well designed really eye catching with the use of such bold colours. Keeping the theme of monsters appeals to boys whilst keeping it fun with the use of a horror style font.


Now this design for a birthday card is quite unusual with the image of a burger, this would definitely appeal to the boys. I like the use of the different fonts and sizes of the 'happy birthday' as a design it pretty simple but i think it works. But it definitely only appeals to a certain audience.

Keep Calm Gallery.

Just received a lovely email from keep calm galleries today informing me of their fab new range of Christmas card designs. The type Christmas tree is my favorite with the 'hi' highlighted in a different colour, I feel it works really well and makes the card more friendly with a little personal message.
I would imagine these were printed using letterpress and I really like the quality you get from this process. So I'm thinking I might give it a go with my card designs.
